Jawline and neck assessment · injectable and device options · the four layers as separate findings
Dr. Ke He is Deputy Director of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center at Chongqing West District Hospital and head of its skin and laser aesthetic service — and she is the lead physician of this site. A core specialist formerly at the Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery Department of Xinqiao Hospital, affiliated with Army Medical University, she has worked on the clinical front line in skin laser and injectable aesthetics for more than 20 years, serving over ten thousand patients.
On this site her part is the assessment that assigns a jawline complaint to a layer, and the injectable and device options that act on three of the four. She examines the masseter at rest and while clenching before a slimming plan is discussed, looks at the platysma with the neck tensed rather than relaxed, and separates the fat under the chin from the structures that sit beside it. Where the border has been lost to descended tissue or to bone, she says that no injectable corrects it, including to patients who arrived expecting a course of treatment rather than an operation, and where a finding belongs with a dentist or a sleep service she refers rather than treats.

The layer at fault, not the treatment you have read about
Most people arrive with a named treatment in mind, and the assessment is not a negotiation about it. It establishes which of the four layers is producing the change and then names the option that addresses that layer, which is sometimes smaller than expected, sometimes an operation, and sometimes nothing at all. A plan aimed at the wrong layer produces no visible change, and treating all four together is the commonest way this area is over-treated.
